Helfy® Ovarian Reserve: Biological Age Profile

Clarity on your reproductive window and endocrine health.

Understanding your ovarian reserve is about more than fertility; it is an insight into your body’s current hormonal trajectory. This doctor-led panel combines the definitive marker for egg count (AMH) with the pituitary-ovarian axis markers that signal how hard your body is working to maintain its cycle. By identifying these levels early, we provide the data necessary for precision family planning and long-term vitality management.

🔬 What We Test — And Why It Matters

The Egg Reserve Marker

  • Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH)
The most reliable blood marker for assessing the quantity of your remaining eggs. Unlike other hormones, AMH is produced directly by the growing follicles and remains relatively stable throughout your cycle, providing a clear "baseline" of your ovarian reserve.

The Hormonal Command Center

  • FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone)
The "accelerator" hormone. Rising FSH levels often indicate that the brain is working harder to stimulate the ovaries, which can be an early signal of a declining reserve or the onset of perimenopause.
  • LH (Luteinising Hormone)
The trigger for ovulation. Monitoring the ratio between FSH and LH provides clinical insight into conditions like PCOS or ovulatory dysfunction.
  • Oestradiol (E2)
The primary female sex hormone. We measure this alongside FSH to ensure the brain’s signals are being correctly interpreted by the ovaries and that the body is producing the necessary estrogen for bone and heart protection.

⚠️ Important Clinical Requirement

  • This blood panel must be followed by a consultation with the Helfy® Clinic you are registered to.
  • Without a booked clinical review, we are unable to process or release this blood test order.
  • Results are not issued without appropriate medical oversight.

This ensures that markers like AMH are interpreted accurately in the context of your age, contraceptive use, and specific reproductive goals.

🧪 How to prepare for your helfy®Test

Pre-Test Instructions

  • Sample Type
This test requires a venous blood draw performed by a qualified clinician.
  • Cycle Timing
While AMH is stable, FSH, LH, and Oestradiol are highly cycle-dependent. For the most accurate result, you must test on Day 2, 3, or 4 of your cycle (where Day 1 is the first day of your period).
  • Timing
Take your sample before 10am. Hormonal baselines are most consistent in the morning.
  • Contraception
If you are on the combined oral contraceptive pill, FSH and LH will be suppressed. It is often recommended to be off hormonal contraception for 1-3 months for the most accurate "natural" baseline, but please discuss this with your clinician first.
  • Supplements
Avoid Biotin (Vitamin B7) for 48 hours before testing, as it can significantly interfere with the accuracy of AMH and Oestradiol assays.
