Helfy® Iron Profile
Master the chemistry of energy and oxygen transport.
Iron is the central engine of your cellular energy. This doctor-led diagnostic panel provides a high-resolution map of your iron stores and transport efficiency. By measuring everything from immediate availability to long-term storage (Ferritin), we can ensure your body has the precise amount of iron needed for mitochondrial function and cognitive clarity, without the oxidative risks associated with iron excess.
🔬 What We Test — And Why It Matters
Iron Kinetics & Storage Capacity
-
Ferritin
The primary storage protein for iron. It acts as your "iron bank account," providing the most accurate reflection of your long-term reserves and a key marker of systemic inflammation. -
Serum Iron
A measurement of the iron currently circulating in your blood, immediately available for the production of red blood cells. -
Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC) & UIBC
These markers measure your blood's capacity to bind and transport iron. They indicate whether your body is "hungry" for more iron or if your transport system is saturated. -
Transferrin Saturation
The percentage of your iron-transport protein that is currently occupied. This is a critical clinical ratio used to identify both iron deficiency and potential iron overload (hemochromatosis) early.
⚠️ Important Clinical Requirement
- This blood panel must be followed by a consultation with the Helfy® Clinic you are registered to.
- Without a booked clinical review, we are unable to process or release this blood test order.
- Results are not issued without appropriate medical oversight.
This ensures your iron data is interpreted safely, accurately, and in the context of your inflammatory markers and dietary habits.
🔐 Clinical Governance Notice
How We Protect You
- All diagnostic blood panels require a follow-up consultation with the Helfy® Clinic you are registered to
- Results are not released without clinical review
- Orders without a booked consultation cannot be processed
This is a doctor-led diagnostic pathway designed for clinical precision and the prevention of cellular oxidative stress, not a generic wellness check.
💡 Designed for people who:
This Panel Is For You If You:
- Are an endurance athlete or engage in high-intensity training
- Experience unexplained fatigue, "brain fog," or brittle hair and nails
- Follow a plant-based or restrictive diet and need to monitor bioavailability
- Want to optimize mitochondrial health and ATP production
- Care about oxygen efficiency and systemic energy levels
This is not a general health check.
This is a precision physiology panel built to ensure your energy systems are fueled for longevity.
🧪 How to prepare for your helfy®Test
Pre-Test Instructions
-
Sample Type
This test requires a venous blood draw performed by a qualified clinician. -
Timing
Take your sample before 10am. Iron levels fluctuate significantly throughout the day; morning draws provide the most reliable baseline. -
Diet
You must fast for 12 hours prior to this test. Avoid iron-rich foods (like red meat) and alcohol for 24 hours before the draw. -
Supplements
Avoid taking any iron supplements or multivitamins containing iron for 48 hours prior to testing, as this will artificially spike serum levels. -
Health Condition
Avoid testing if you have an active infection or fever, as Ferritin is an "acute-phase reactant" and will rise significantly during illness, masking your true iron stores.
