How to prepare?
Prepare for your helfy®Female Hormone Blood Test by following these simple steps:
1. Timing: Collect your sample between 6am and 10am.
2. Activity: For 24 hours before the test, avoid nipple stimulation and sexual activity, as these can elevate prolactin levels. Refrain from heavy meals and strenuous exercise before the test, as they may also affect prolactin results.
3. Menstrual Cycle: If you have periods, take the test two to five days after your period starts, ideally on day three. If you do not have periods, the test can be taken at any time.
4. Finger-Prick Sample: Do not use a finger that has been exposed to hormone gels, pessaries, or patches in the past four weeks. Wear gloves when applying these products.
5. Supplements: Avoid biotin supplements for two days before the test. If biotin is prescribed, consult your doctor.
6. Contraception: Hormonal contraception may affect test results. For more accurate results, consider taking a break from contraception and waiting for your periods to restart before testing.
